Fly-tipping is when people throw their rubbish away in places where it is not allowed. This includes throwing litter in public places or dumping larger items such as old furniture, household appliances, or construction waste in places like alleys, bushes, or parks instead of using an authorised disposal facility.
It’s just like when you see someone dropping their sweet wrapper on the pavement instead of putting it in the bin. This is not only against the law, it also makes our environment dirty and unpleasant to be in.
Fly-tipping can be dangerous as well. People can hurt themselves on the broken glass or sharp metals or get sick from chemicals or toxic waste, which can pollute the soil, water or air around the site, and may cause harm to plants, animals, and our health too.
Therefore, it's very important to dispose of our rubbish properly, either by putting it in the bin or taking it to a council waste centre or recycling facility, to keep our environment clean, safe and healthy.
