Folk medicine

Folk medicine is like when your grandparents or great-grandparents teach you ways to feel better when you're sick. It's different from what a doctor tells you to do because it's based on the old ways of taking care of your body that people have been doing for a long time.

Your grandparents might tell you to drink tea with honey when you have a cough, or to put a warm towel on your forehead when you have a fever. They might also tell you to eat certain foods, like chicken soup, to help you feel better.

Folk medicine is interesting because it varies from place to place around the world. Some people use herbs, while others might use different kinds of animals, like a snake or a bug. Sometimes it works, but other times it doesn't.

It's important to remember that while folk medicine can be helpful, it's always best to talk to a doctor if you're feeling really sick or if you're not sure what to do. Your doctor has been trained to help you get better in the safest and most effective way possible.
