Food Chemicals Codex

Okay, so you know how sometimes grown-ups use big words and talk about things you don't understand? Well, one of those big words is "Food Chemicals Codex".

Basically, the Food Chemicals Codex is like a really big book that has a list of all the different chemicals that are allowed to be used in our food. These chemicals help our food taste better, stay fresher for longer, and look nicer.

But the grown-ups who make the rules about what we can and can't eat want to make sure that these chemicals are safe for us to have in our food. So, they made the Food Chemicals Codex so that they could test all the different chemicals to make sure they won't hurt us.

It's kind of like when your mom or dad checks your Halloween candy to make sure there aren't any bad things in it, except the Food Chemicals Codex checks all the chemicals in our food all the time. This helps keep us safe and healthy!
