ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Ford GPA

Okay kiddo, have you ever seen a car that can drive both on land and in water? That's exactly what the Ford GPA is! It's a very special vehicle called an amphibious car.

It was used during World War II to help soldiers get past water obstacles like rivers and lakes. The Ford GPA was designed by the Ford Motor Company and looks kind of like a jeep, but has a boat-like bottom for floating in the water.

When it's in the water, it uses its propellers - like a motorboat - to move and steer. When it's on land, it drives just like a car.

Overall, the Ford GPA is a vehicle that can do two very different things - drive on land and float on water - to help people get where they need to go, even if there's a giant river in the way. Pretty cool, huh?
