ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Form follows function

Form follows function is a simple idea that means the way something looks (its form) should be determined by how it works (its function). For example, a computer is made up of lots of different pieces that serve different functions. Its form (shape and design) is determined by those parts and how they all fit together. If a computer was made to look like a cat, but still had all the same pieces and functions, it wouldn't work very well! It would be much better if it was shaped like a normal computer so that all of the parts can fit together and do their job properly.
