Formative context

Formative context is the situation that shapes how something develops. For example, a child's formative context could be the family they are born into, or the school they attend. This context will shape how the child develops and grows. For example, if a child is born into a loving supportive family, with lots of opportunities to learn and explore different things, then their formative context has given them lots of chances to grow and learn. On the other hand, if a child is born into a poor family with limited resources, their formative context has fewer opportunities for learning and exploring. In either case, the formative context will shape the kind of person the child will become.
