Fort King George

Fort King George was a place a long time ago where people who lived in America built a big building with walls made of wood to protect themselves from other people who might try to hurt them. The people who lived there were called the British and they came from a place very far away called England.

The fort was built in a place that is now part of the state of Georgia. It was made by the British in the year 1721, which is a really long time ago. The people of the fort were soldiers who wore special clothes and had guns to help them protect the fort. They had to be really brave because they knew they might have to fight against other people who wanted to take over the fort.

The fort was also near a big river called the Altamaha River. Some people even used to call the fort "Altamaha Fort" because it was so close to the river. The soldiers who lived in the fort sometimes had to travel on boats on the river to get supplies like food and ammo.

People can still go visit Fort King George today. Even though it is a lot older than you are, you can see what it looked like a long time ago and learn about the people who lived there.
