ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Forum theatre

Okay kiddo, you know how sometimes we see things happening that we don't like? Maybe someone is being mean to another person or not treating them fairly. Forum theatre is a way for us to act out those situations and figure out how we can make things better.

In forum theatre, there is a group of people who act out a scene that shows a problem. Then, the audience gets to stop the scene and say what they think should happen instead. They might suggest different things the characters could say or do to make the situation better.

Then, the scene starts again and the actors try out some of the ideas from the audience. Sometimes, they even let someone from the audience come up and act out part of the scene themselves! This helps us see how different choices and actions can change the situation and make things better.

So, forum theatre is like practice for how we can handle problems in real life. It helps us figure out what to do when we see someone being treated unfairly or when we want to stand up for what we believe in. It's a fun and interactive way to learn how to be a good friend and a good citizen.
