Forward surgical teams

Forward surgical teams are like doctors and nurses who travel to help people who are hurt in a faraway place. That's where forward surgical teams come in! They are specially trained groups of doctors and nurses who can travel to where the person is quickly, to help them as soon as possible. They have all of the tools and equipment they need to help the person, and they know the best ways to fix them up.

So, imagine that you are playing in your backyard and you fall and hurt your knee really badly. Your mom tries to help, but she doesn't know how to fix it. If you lived somewhere very far away from a hospital, you might have to wait a long time to get help. But if a forward surgical team was nearby, they could come to your house quickly and use their special tools and knowledge to help you right away!
