Foucault's lectures at the Collège de France

Okay kiddo, so Foucault was a really smart grown-up who gave very important talks at a special school in France called the Collège de France. These talks were called lectures.

Now, Foucault talked about really big and complicated ideas about things like power and knowledge. He wanted to help people understand how things work in society and why we do certain things.

He would talk for a long time and use lots of big words, but he did it in a way that people could understand. He tried to explain things as simply as possible so that everyone listening could learn something new.

People who listened to his lectures really liked him because he made them think about the world in a different way. Some even said that Foucault was one of the smartest people in the whole world because of his lectures!
