ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Foundation for the National Institutes of Health

The Foundation for the National Institutes of Health (FNIH) is a group of adults who work together to raise money to help scientists do important medical research that can make people healthier. The FNIH helps to bring together all kinds of people who care about health, like doctors, scientists, companies, and regular people like you!

The FNIH helps to raise money for things called grants, or big chunks of money that scientists can use to do their work. These grants help scientists who have good ideas for medical research to be able to study things like new medicines or how our bodies work.

The FNIH also helps to organize big events called symposiums where scientists can share their ideas about health and medical research with each other. These events help scientists to work together and think of new and better ways to help people stay healthy.

Overall, the FNIH is a group of grownups who are working really hard to help scientists do important work that will make people healthier!
