Four square is a game that you can play outside with your friends. It's called four square because you play with a big square that has four smaller squares inside it. Each player stands in one of the smaller squares.
To play, you need a rubber ball that you can bounce on the ground. One player starts by bouncing the ball in their square and then hitting it with their hands into another player's square. The other player has to hit the ball back into a different square before it bounces more than once.
If the ball bounces twice in someone's square, or if someone hits the ball out of bounds, they are out of the game and have to leave their square. The other players move up and a new player joins the game in the last square.
You have to be quick and move fast to hit the ball and keep it from bouncing twice in your square. The goal is to stay in the game as long as possible and move up to the first square.
Some people like to use special rules like "cherry bombing," which means hitting the ball really hard, or "cherry dropping," which means hitting the ball softly so it's hard for the next player to hit it. These rules can make the game more challenging and fun!
The game keeps going until there's only one player left standing in the first square. That person is the winner!
