The Fourier–Bessel Series is an equation that helps us find patterns in data. It does this by combining lots of simple wave-like shapes together to make a more complex pattern. The wave-like shapes are called 'Bessel Functions', and the more of them we put together, the more accurate the pattern. We can use this equation to break down data and make predictions. For example, if you were studying how the air temperature changes with the season, then the Fourier–Bessel Series might help you predict what the temperature is going to be next month.
