Fragmentation (chemistry)

Fragmentation is a way to describe how chemicals are broken up into smaller pieces. Think of it like taking a big cake and cutting it into small pieces. Fragmentation in chemistry is similar, except instead of cakes, we're cutting up molecules. Molecules are made up of atoms stuck together, so when we fragment them, we are cutting them apart into the individual atoms that make them up.
