Frame story

A frame story is like drawing a picture around a picture. It's a way to make a story that includes different and smaller stories inside it. Let's use the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears as an example.

Goldilocks and the Three Bears is a frame story because it starts with a main story - Goldilocks going into the Three Bears' house. Inside that main story, there are smaller stories of Goldilocks trying out the porridge, the chairs, and the beds. The story ends with Goldilocks running away from the house. So the smaller stories are all framed by the main story.
