France–United Kingdom relations

France and the United Kingdom are neighbors; they share a border and are both in Europe. They have had a long history of both friendly and unfriendly relations. For many years, France and the United Kingdom were rivals, but now they are strong allies. France and the United Kingdom have strong economic ties, including trade, investment and tourism. They also work together on international issues like security, the environment and global health. They have even joined forces to fight terrorism, including working together to stop ISIS from taking over parts of Syria and Iraq. Despite their disagreements on certain issues, France and the United Kingdom are committed to working together to make the world a better place.
