ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Fraternities and sororities

Okay kiddo, imagine you went to a school where there were a bunch of groups of friends who all wore matching jackets and did things together. These groups are called fraternities and sororities. Fraternities are for boys and sororities are for girls.

When you join a fraternity or sorority, you become part of a big family with lots of brothers or sisters. You share a special bond and have traditions and rituals you do together. There are also rules you have to follow, like being nice to each other and helping your community.

Sometimes, fraternities and sororities have houses where all the members can live together. They usually have a big common area where they hang out and do fun activities together, like watching movies or playing games.

Being part of a fraternity or sorority can be really fun, but it also comes with responsibilities. You have to work hard to keep up with schoolwork, follow the rules, and be a good member of the group.

Overall, being in a fraternity or sorority is kind of like having a big group of friends who are like family. You do lots of fun things together and help each other out, but you also have to be responsible and follow the rules.
