Free recall

Free recall means remembering something without any help or prompts. For example, thinking of all the items you bought at the grocery store without looking at the receipt. Imagine you went to the grocery store and wanted to remember all the things you bought. You would have to use free recall to think about the items you bought, without looking at the receipt or writing down the items.
