French language in the United States

The French language is spoken by some people in the United States. This is because a long time ago, some people from France settled in the United States and brought their language with them. Today, French is common in some parts of the United States, like Louisiana, where many people speak both French and English. French is also spoken in some other states, but not as much as in Louisiana. French can be heard in schools, stores and other public places in some parts of the United States.
