ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Frontal eye fields

The frontal eye fields are special parts of your brain that are in charge of helping your eyes move around. Just like how your hands have special parts of your brain that help them move, your eyeballs also have their own special part of your brain.

Imagine you are playing a game of "Eye Spy" and you need to move your eyes from one thing to another thing. Your frontal eye fields are the ones that help you do this. They send special signals to your eyes that tell them where to go and when to stop.

When you look at something, your eyes may need to move up or down, left or right, or even diagonally. Your frontal eye fields play an important role in coordinating these movements to make sure that you can see everything you need to see.

So, the frontal eye fields are like the conductor of an orchestra, making sure that all the different parts (your eyes) work together properly so that you can see everything around you.
