Fulton–Hansen connectedness theorem

The Fulton-Hansen Connectedness Theorem is a fancy rule that helps us understand how different shapes and spaces are connected to each other.

Imagine you have a big shape, like a puzzle piece, with a bunch of smaller shapes inside of it. The theorem tells us that if we don't have any gaps or spaces between the smaller shapes, then the bigger shape is also connected.

Think of it like a dot-to-dot puzzle. If we have all the dots connected in the right way, then we can see the whole picture. But if there's a break in the dots, then we can't see the full picture.

So, if we have a set of shapes that are all connected to each other without any breaks or gaps, then we can say that the entire set is connected too. It's like a big group of friends who all hold hands and stay together so they don't get separated.

The Fulton-Hansen Connectedness Theorem is a really important idea in mathematics and helps us understand how all sorts of shapes and spaces fit together.
