Funeral (Buddhism)

When someone dies in Buddhism, their friends and family might have a funeral to say goodbye and show respect.

During the funeral, people might light candles, burn incense, and bring offerings like flowers or food. They might also chant or say prayers to help the person who died on their journey to a new life.

Buddhists believe in something called karma, which means that our actions have consequences. So during the funeral, people might remind themselves of the good things the person who died did in their life and hope that they will receive positive karma in their next life.

In Buddhism, it's believed that death is not an end but a transition to a new life. So the funeral is a time to acknowledge the sadness of losing someone but also to celebrate the hope that they will have a good rebirth.
