Future enlargement of the European Union

The European Union (EU) is a group of countries in Europe that work together to make life better for their citizens, like having the ability to travel freely between countries without needing extra visas and having the same laws for safety and health. In recent years, there have been talks of some other countries joining the EU - this is called enlargement.

Enlargement means that more countries, who already meet the EU requirements, will become part of the European Union. This would mean that their citizens would have the same benefits that people in other EU countries have. All the countries in the EU will also benefit, because they will get to trade more easily with the new countries, and learn from each other.

There are a lot of discussions and negotiations still going on to decide which countries will join the EU next, and when they will become official members. In the future, the European Union will likely grow and include even more countries from Europe, helping to make life better for everyone.
