Géoportail

Hey kiddo, do you know what a map is? A map helps us find places, right? Now, what if I told you that there is a special map that not only helps us find places but also shows us a lot of other things like roads, cities, forests, mountains, rivers, and even pictures of those places. Interesting, right?

This special map is called géoportail, it's a French word that means "geo-portal". It's a website that can show us a lot of maps of France and its territories. It has many tools that allow us to explore these maps in detail.

Suppose you want to find a place on géoportail. All you have to do is search for the place using the search bar. You can also zoom in or out by clicking on the plus and minus buttons or dragging the slider. If you want to see the picture of the place, you can turn on the aerial or satellite view. This will show you a bird's eye view of the place, which is pretty cool.

But géoportail is not just about maps and pictures. It also shows us a lot of information about those places. For example, if you click on a road, it will show you its name, length, and type. If you click on a forest, it will show you the type of trees, its area, and whether it's protected or not. If you click on a river, it will show you its name, length, and flow direction.

Géoportail is not only useful for finding places and their information but also for planning travel routes, measuring distances, and even for doing research. So, if you ever want to learn more about France and its territories, or simply want to explore its beautiful countryside, don't forget to check out géoportail.
