Göbekli Tepe is a very old site in a place called Turkey (in the Middle East). It was built more than 12,000 years ago which is much older than the Pyramids of Egypt. The people who built Göbekli Tepe were hunter-gatherers, which means they hunted animals to eat and gathered plants for food.
Göbekli Tepe is special because it was the first place people built that was made out of stone. They made walls, rooms and pillars out of stones, and everything was arranged in a circular pattern. It is believed that the people who built it used it as a place to worship gods. They might have also used it as a place to gather and meet other people.
Nobody knows exactly why they built Göbekli Tepe, but it is still remarkable that they were able to create such a beautiful, complicated structure without any modern tools or materials. It is a reminder of how creative and resourceful ancient people could be!
