GPS-aided geo-augmented navigation

GPS-Aided Geo-Augmented Navigation (GAGAN) is a system that uses satellite signals to help you know where you are and tell you where to go. It uses two different types of satellites: GPS satellites and geostationary satellites. GPS satellites send signals down to Earth and a special device (like a phone or a navigation device) reads the signal. The device uses this signal to figure out exactly where you are. The geostationary satellites stay in the same spot in the sky, in the same position all the time and send signals to the same special device. This signal includes information about the terrain, obstacles, and landmarks. The device combines these two signals to give you a really good and precise idea of where you are and how to get to your destination.
