The Galactic center is the center of our galaxy, the Milky Way. It is a very special place because it is the place where all of the stars and planets in our galaxy are located. The Galactic center is very far away, roughly 27,000 light years away from Earth. But despite the great distance, astronomers are able to see our Galaxy’s center in more detail than ever before! They can see stars that are bright white and hot and dust clouds of gas and dust that are orange and red. There are also very strong magnetic fields and intense radiation coming from the Galactic center. All of these things make the Galactic center an amazing place to observe and explore!
