ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Galley (kitchen)

A galley kitchen is like a kitchen on a boat or an airplane. It is usually a long, narrow space with cabinets and appliances on two opposite walls. Imagine if you stood in between two long, narrow counters and there were cabinets above and below the counter on each side. This is what a galley kitchen looks like.

In a galley kitchen, chefs and cooks have everything they need within reach because the space is small, compact, and efficient. They can easily grab utensils, pots, pans, and ingredients without moving around or searching for them. This is really helpful when you're trying to prepare food quickly and efficiently.

Also, because a galley kitchen is narrow, it’s easier to keep everything clean and organized. There is not much room for clutter or messes to accumulate. It's like having a tiny kitchen that's easy to keep tidy.

Overall, a galley kitchen is a small but efficient space where chefs can easily reach everything they need to prepare delicious meals.
