ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Game shows

Game shows are like big puzzles that people can watch on TV or play in person. They usually involve some sort of competition, where people try to win prizes by solving puzzles or answering questions.

For example, one popular game show is called "Jeopardy!" In this game, there are categories like "History" or "Literature." The host will read out a clue, like "This 16th President of the United States gave the Gettysburg Address." The contestants (the people playing the game) then have to buzz in and say the correct answer, which would be "Who is Abraham Lincoln?"

Other game shows might involve physical challenges, where people have to do things like solve mazes or climb obstacles.

The person who wins the game might get a big prize, like money or a trip to a cool place. But even if someone doesn't win, they can still have fun playing and watching the game show.
