Gankyil is a Tibetan Buddhist term meaning "wheel of joy". It symbolizes the interconnectedness of all living things and is used as a visual representation of karma, or cause and effect. Gankyil is usually represented by a wheel with eight spokes, representing the eight directions (north, south, east, west,up,down, left, right). It has eight different animals, deities, or symbols that represent different life paths. For example, the north may represent protection, the east may represent wisdom, the west may represent compassion, and the south may represent strength. Each life path has a unique path, depending on the choices you make. This wheel symbolizes that we are all connected, and it encourages us to make conscious decisions to bring more joy and peace into our lives.
