ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Garden-based learning

Garden-based learning is when we learn about plants and nature by growing things in a garden. It's kind of like playing with dirt, but we can also learn a lot of important things while doing it.

First, we need to find a sunny spot with good soil to plant our seeds. We can choose which plants we want to grow and what kind of soil and water they need. We'll learn about the different parts of plants and what they need to grow.

As the plants grow, we can watch how they change and keep track of their progress. This can help us learn about science, like how plants use photosynthesis to make food and how different types of soil affect plant growth.

We'll also learn about responsibility because we need to take care of our plants by watering them regularly and making sure they have enough sunlight. In the garden, we will also learn about teamwork and cooperation because we may need help from others to complete tasks.

Once the plants are ready, we can eat them! We'll learn about healthy eating and choosing food that's good for our bodies. We can also make our own herbal teas and other treats from what we harvest.

Overall, garden-based learning is a fun and hands-on way to learn about nature and our environment while also developing important life skills.
