The Gaza Strip is a small strip of land on the east coast of the Mediterranean Sea. It is only 25 miles long, and is bordered by Israel, Egypt and the Mediterranean Sea. Its population is made up of Palestinians, a group of people who have been living in the area for centuries. In 1948, the Gaza Strip became part of Israel, and a lot of Palestinians living there became refugees. In 2005, Israel agreed to withdraw its troops and pull out of the Gaza Strip, but the Israeli government still has a lot of control over it. The two main groups that control the Gaza Strip are Hamas, which is an Islamic group, and Fatah, which is a secular group. Unfortunately, these two groups often fight each other, creating a lot of conflict.
