General position

General position is a fancy term that means things are not overlapping or in the same place. It’s like when you’re playing with your toys, and you don’t want them to be on top of each other because you can’t play with them that way. In math, it’s kind of like that too. If you have points, lines or shapes and they are all in different places where they are not touching or overlapping, we call that being in general position. It’s important in math because it helps us solve problems and figure out things like how many shapes can be placed in the same area without touching.
