ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Geoconservation

Geoconservation is like taking care of your toys or your favorite things. But instead of toys or things, we take care of rocks, fossils and other things we find in nature.

Just like we take care of our toys to make sure they don't break, geoconservation is about looking after rocks and other things in nature to make sure they are not damaged or destroyed.

Some rocks and fossils are very old and rare, so we try to protect them so that they are there for other people to see and learn about them.

Geoconservation also helps us understand the earth and its history. It can tell us how the earth was formed and how it has changed over millions or even billions of years.

So, taking care of rocks and fossils is like looking after a treasure. It helps us learn about our planet and keep the things we love safe.
