ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Geography of Afghanistan

Afghanistan is a big country located in the middle of Asia, kind of like a puzzle piece that fits between Iran, Pakistan, China, and a few other countries. It has a lot of different types of land like mountains, deserts, and plains, which means that people who live there have to be really good at adapting to different environments.

Some parts of Afghanistan have really tall mountains that are covered in snow and have lots of trees, while other parts are super dry and sandy with no trees. The people who live in the snowy mountains might have to wear lots of warm clothes and use things like skis to get around, while the people who live in the dry areas might have to use camels or donkeys to carry things because it's too hot for cars.

There are also different types of people who live in Afghanistan, with different languages, cultures, and religions. Some people are Muslim, which means they worship a god called Allah and follow some special rules, while other people might be Buddhist or Hindu.

Afghanistan has been in the news a lot because there have been a lot of battles and wars there over the years. This has made it hard for people who live there to have a good life, because things like houses, schools, and hospitals can get destroyed. But lots of people are working hard to make Afghanistan a better place, by building new things and helping communities get access to food, water, and education.
