Geography of Colorado

Hi kiddo! Today we will talk about the geography of Colorado. Colorado is a state in the United States of America. It's a big square shaped state in the western part of the U.S.

Colorado is famous for its mountains. People love to visit and hike in the Rocky Mountains that are in the middle of the state. These mountains are so big, they are called the "Colorado Rockies". They are very tall and can be covered with snow a lot of the year.

Did you know that Colorado has a famous river called the Colorado River? It starts in Colorado and then goes all the way to the ocean in California. It's a very pretty river with lots of canyons and cliffs around it.

In Colorado, there are also some big deserts. A desert is a place with a lot of sand and not a lot of plants or water. One of the most famous deserts in Colorado is called the Great Sand Dunes National Park. It is a very cool place to explore and hike in.

The capital city of Colorado is Denver. It's a big city with lots of people, skyscrapers, and parks. Denver is surrounded by mountains and has a river running through it. It's a fun place to visit with lots of things to do.
