Geography of Taiwan

Taiwan is an island that is located in Asia, just off the coast of China. Imagine if you were at the edge of a giant pool, and someone put a small round floatie in the water right next to you. That's kind of what Taiwan looks like compared to the big continent of Asia!

Taiwan is actually made up of lots of different smaller islands, but the main one is the biggest and most important. It's kind of shaped like a sweet potato, with a skinny tail that stretches out to the south.

Taiwan has lots of beautiful mountains and forests. It's like a giant nature park! The tallest mountain is called Yushan, and it's really, really high - even taller than the tallest mountain in Japan! There are also lots of rivers and lakes that flow through Taiwan, which is really important because people need water to live.

The weather in Taiwan is usually pretty warm and sunny. In the summertime, it can get really hot and humid, like being in a steam room! But in the wintertime, it can be quite mild.

Taiwan is also famous for its food. There are lots of different delicious dishes to try, like bubble tea, beef noodle soup, and stinky tofu. Yum!
