Gerhard von Scharnhorst

Gerhard von Scharnhorst was a guy who lived a really long time ago in Germany. He was born over 250 years ago in 1755! Gerhard was really good at fighting in wars but he wasn't just a fighter, he was super smart too.

You know how when you play with your toys, you have to make a plan for how to get things done? Well, Gerhard was really good at making plans too! He was so good at it that he even helped make a new army plan for Germany called the Prussian Army.

Gerhard worked really hard to make the army better. He came up with new ideas to train the soldiers like making them march together and practice with their guns. He also thought it was really important for the soldiers to know how to read and write so they could understand the army plans better.

Gerhard was so good at training soldiers and making plans that he even became the boss of the whole Prussian Army! He was really good at leading the army and making sure everyone knew what to do. Thanks to his ideas, the Prussian Army became one of the best armies in Europe!

Even though Gerhard died a long time ago in 1813, people still look up to him today for his incredible work in making the Prussian Army better.
