Okay kiddo, a long time ago in the late 1800s, Germany wanted to expand its power and influence in the world. They decided to do this by going to Africa, a big continent with lots of different countries and people. The Germans thought they could make money and become even more powerful by owning some of these African countries.
So, they started colonizing parts of Africa. This means that they went to places that weren't theirs and said, "This is ours now!" They set up systems to control the people who lived there and took over the natural resources like gold, diamonds, and rubber. They also forced the people to work for them and made them pay taxes.
The Germans didn't do this alone, they had help from their soldiers and other people who came with them. They built up their colonies with their own people, and made the Africans feel like they didn't belong in their own homes. This was very unfair and made the Africans very angry.
The Germans stayed in Africa until World War I, when they had to give up their colonies. Their actions were very harmful and had many negative effects that lasted for a long time. We should always remember that it's not okay to take over other people's things, and we should treat everyone with respect and fairness.
