German nuclear weapons program

Okay kiddo, so a long time ago, Germany wanted to make some really powerful weapons that would make them stronger than other countries. They thought about making something called nuclear weapons. Nuclear weapons are really, really powerful and can cause a lot of destruction.

Germany started working on making nuclear weapons during World War II. They even had some really smart scientists working on it, like a man named Otto Hahn who discovered something called nuclear fission.

But making nuclear weapons is really hard, and it takes a lot of time and money. Germany was also fighting a war at the same time, so they had to focus on that too. They didn't have enough resources to keep working on the nuclear weapons program, so they eventually had to stop.

The United States ended up being the first country to develop nuclear weapons, and they used them in a war against Japan. After that, other countries also started making their own nuclear weapons, but Germany never got back into the game.

So, in short, Germany tried to make nuclear weapons a long time ago during WWII but had to stop because they were also fighting a war and didn't have enough resources. Other countries ended up making nuclear weapons, but Germany never did.
