Giant current ripples

Giant current ripples are like giant waves in the ocean. They are made when the water rushes over the sea floor. The powerful currents push the sand and other sediment around, which forms these huge ripples in the sea bed. They can range in size from a few metres to more than 50 metres high. Scientists study giant current ripples to find out more about the environment, such as what kinds of creatures may be living in and around the ripples.
