GitHub is like a big online filing cabinet that holds lots of different kinds of files that people can look at and use. When you make a file, you can put it into GitHub so that other people can find it, and use it or even add their own changes and improvements to it. You can also see what changes other people have made, which is a great way to share ideas and work together.
