Glashtyn

Glashtyn is a word used to describe a creature from the folklore of the Isle of Man. Imagine a creature that is a mix between a horse and a fish. It has a horse's head and body but also has fish-like fins and a tail.

According to the stories, the Glashtyn would hide in the water near rivers or bridges and wait for people or animals to come close. Then it would grab them with its strong fin-like arms and drag them into the water to drown them.

People believed that the only way to protect yourself from a Glashtyn was to wear your clothing inside out – for some reason the creature was said to be afraid of inside out clothes.

Now, it's important to remember that Glashtyn is just a legend and there is no scientific evidence that these creatures really exist. But it's still a fun and scary story to tell on the Isle of Man!
