Glow plug (model engine)

Ok kiddo, so you know how cars have these things called spark plugs that help start the engine? Well, model engines are a little bit different. Instead of spark plugs, they have something called glow plugs.

A glow plug is a tiny little wire that gets really hot when you turn on the engine. It's kind of like the filament in a light bulb. Once it's hot enough, it starts to make the special fuel you put in the engine (called glow fuel) ignite.

Now, you might be wondering why you need a special type of fuel for a model engine. Well, it's because the engine is really small and it needs something that will burn easily. If you used regular gas like you put in a car, the engine wouldn't work right.

So, when you turn on the model engine and the glow plug gets really hot, it ignites the fuel and that's what makes the engine start turning. Pretty neat, huh?
