ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Goal orientation

Goal orientation is the attitude or mindset that you have when you are trying to achieve something. It might be stuff like trying to get good grades in school, or learning how to play a sport, or studying for a test. The main idea is that you want to do your best and you are motivated and determined to get the results that you want. With goal orientation, you focus on how much you are learning and improving, rather than how well you are doing compared to other people. So, in other words, it is about how well YOU are doing, and not how well everyone else is doing. That way, you can keep learning and growing, even if other people might be better than you at something.
