ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Goddard College

Okay kiddo, have you ever heard of college? It's a place where grown-up students can go to learn new things and get a degree. Well, Goddard College is one of those colleges.

But Goddard College is not like other colleges. It's what we call a "progressive" college. That means they believe that people can learn in lots of different ways, not just by sitting in a classroom and listening to a teacher.

At Goddard College, students get to create their own programs of study. That means they can choose what they want to study and how they want to learn about it. Some students might read books, write papers, or do research projects. But other students might make art, perform music, or even create their own businesses!

Goddard College also has a really special way of teaching. Instead of having big classes with lots of students, each student gets their own advisor. This is like a special teacher who works with them one-on-one. They talk about what the student is learning and what they need help with. The advisor also helps the student come up with new ideas for their program of study.

Kids who go to Goddard College get to be in charge of their own learning. They get to explore what they're interested in and discover new things about themselves. So if you ever decide to go to college, maybe Goddard College is the place for you!
