ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Goethean science

Goethean Science is a way of looking at the world around us that is based on the ideas of a man named Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. He believed that we should be more curious and observant of the natural world, and that we can learn a lot from just looking closely at things.

To explain it like you are 5 years old, let's say you are playing outside and you find a really cool rock. Instead of just thinking "wow, that's a cool rock," Goethean Science would encourage you to look at the rock really carefully. You might notice the different colors in the rock, or how smooth or bumpy it feels. You might even try to guess what type of rock it is based on what you observe.

Goethean Science isn't just about looking at rocks though - it can be used to observe all sorts of things in nature, like plants or animals. By observing things really closely and taking notes, we can learn more about how things work in the world around us.

Overall, Goethean Science is about being curious and paying attention to the natural world, so that we can learn more about it and hopefully use that knowledge to make the world a better place.
