A long long time ago, before TVs and smartphones, people used to listen to stories and shows on the radio. This time is known as the Golden Age of Radio. It was called ‘golden age’ because it was the best and most exciting time for radio.
During this time, people used to gather around the radio to listen to programs that can make them laugh, cry, or get scared. There were shows about mysteries, dramas, comedies, music, news, and many other things.
The radio was the only source of entertainment at that time, and people loved it. They used to imagine what the characters looked like and how the scenes would look, just by listening to the sounds and voices.
Some of the most famous programs during the Golden Age of Radio were ‘The War of the Worlds’, ‘The Lone Ranger’, ‘The Shadow’, ‘The Jack Benny Program’, and ‘Fibber McGee and Molly’.
This period lasted from the 1920s to the 1950s, and it changed the way people looked at entertainment. Although TVs and smartphones have now taken over, the Golden Age of Radio will always be remembered as one of the most exciting times in history.
