Google Lunar X Prize

The Google Lunar X Prize is like a big, exciting competition for space robots! Just like how you might have a competition with your friends to see who can run faster or jump higher, this is a competition for robots that are designed to travel to the Moon and do some cool things there.

The competition is put on by a company called Google, which you might know as the company that helps you search for things on the computer or phone. They want to encourage people to explore space and do amazing things, so they created this competition.

To enter the competition, teams of people from all over the world had to design and build a robot that can travel to the Moon, move around on the surface, and do specific tasks. The robot has to be controlled from Earth, but it has to be smart enough to do things on its own, too.

The winning team will get a giant prize of $20 million, which is like winning the biggest prize in the world, like winning the Olympics or the World Cup. But even if a team doesn't win the top prize, they can still learn a lot and do amazing things with their space robot, which is pretty cool too.
