Gorodki

Gorodki is a game that people play outside in Russia. It has been around for over 400 years! To play, you need a set of wooden blocks (called gorodki) that are arranged in a special way on the ground. Think of it like building a tower with blocks, but bigger and with specific shapes. The goal of the game is to knock down as many of the blocks as possible by throwing a stick at them.

Before the game starts, players take turns arranging the blocks in a special way. The blocks are placed in two rows with a space between them. Then, the players take turns throwing a stick (called a bat) at the blocks and trying to knock them over. Each player gets a certain number of tries to hit as many blocks as possible.

The game can be played by two people or by teams. When a player hits a block, they get a certain number of points depending on which block they hit. Some blocks are worth more points than others. The game ends when all of the blocks have been knocked over.
